Dr. John McManaman
Dr. McManaman started his education at Mount Allison University, where he received a B.Sc. (Hons), before he was accepted into the Dalhousie Dental School. He graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1999, and then completed a year long internship programme in dentistry at the Toronto General Hospital. It was during this period that he focussed on orthodontic research. While working with the a past chairman of the University of Toronto’s Orthodontic programme he was able to publish his first orthodontic research.
Dr. Christos Papadopoulos
Dr. Papadopoulos was born and raised in Saint John, NB and completed his undergraduate degree (BSc Honours) at the University of New Brunswick.
Following his time at UNB, Dr. Papadopoulos earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Dalhousie University in 2013 and received the Canadian Dental Association’s Student Leader Award. He was then accepted into a general practice residency, with an emphasis in pediatric dentistry, at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC. There, he worked as a dentist at BC Children’s Hospital and throughout the province delivering dental care to patients of all ages, including children with special needs. Chantal joined the Docbraces team in 2004 while completing Oulton’s College’s, Dental Assistant program. Beginning as a records and lab technician Chantal quickly progressed to an orthodontic assistant leading to her current role as clinical lead and Docbraces in-house, singer, song writer. Chantal oversees all Docbraces’ clinics and ensuring clinicians are trained to Docbraces standards, while maintaining quality care. When not at Docbraces, Chantal spends most of her time focused on her family, which includes 3 children, 2 dogs and a Cockatiel. They enjoy downhill skiing, spending time at the cottage in Grand Lake, traveling, and visiting extended family in Australia. With over 25 years of orthodontic experience Pam has enjoyed watching so many smile transformations during her career. When Pam is not busy with the Smile Team™, she enjoys reading, sewing, painting and camping with her husband and two sons. Pam’s busy household also includes two very friendly felines- “Sophie” and “Milie”.
Cynthia loves coming to work and seeing the wonderful smiles of our patients. Orthodontics has always been a passion of Cynthia’s. Having had braces herself, it is easy for Cynthia to understand and relate to patients. Cynthia enjoys seeing the wonderful changes that occur from one appointment to the next. Cynthia’s goal is to ensure that you are happy with the results that lead to the smile of your dreams. In her spare time, Cynthia enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends
Rachel is one of Docbraces many talented orthodontic assistants. She loves new challenges, and having a good time with patients, making them smile. Graduating from Oulton’s College in 2006, Rachel has a significant role at Docbraces and that’s “creating smile magic”, as she would say! When not at Docbraces, Rachel enjoys boating, snowmobiling, and spending time with her family and all-time favourite fur baby, her dog Lex.
Originally from Cape Breton, Tammy relocated to the area from Calgary joining the Docbraces Smile Team™ in 2008. Tammy loves to see the transformation patient’s smiles go through during their time with us. Give Tammy a smile and you can count on getting one in return. When not at work, Tammy enjoys taking in the fresh air and sunshine and all that nature has to offer. She also enjoys big getting smiles from her two children, especially when she tells them she is going to bake one of their favourite sweets.
Rachel joined the Docbraces Smile Team™ in 2009 after having spent four years in Calgary AB. Rachel is extremely is excited to be Smile Team™ member and has felt at home here since day one. Having had braces herself as a teenager; Rachel has experienced firsthand the boost in confidence and self-esteem that comes from having a great smile. Rachel finds her career very rewarding and considers it a privilege to be a part of the Docbraces Smile Team™. Outside of the office Rachel enjoys traveling, reading, spending time with family, and watching baseball.
Chelsea has been with Docbraces since July of 2010. A certified level 2 Dental Assistant, Chelsea began training for her Orthodontic Module in 2011. After working as a clinician for two-and-a-half years, in November of 2013, Chelsea jumped at the opportunity to become one of Docbraces’ Treatment Coordinators and now enjoys being one of the first contacts new patients have with Docbraces. Chelsea loves seeing people’s smiles and confidence transform as their smiles improve. In her spare time, Chelsea can be found with her Docbraces coworkers, shopping, going to the movies, and exercising. Chelsea also loves spending time with her family and feels being a mother is one of her greatest and proudest accomplishments!
Having graduated from the Dental Hygiene program at Oulton College in 2012 Jessica joined the Docbraces Smile Team™ in the spring of 2013. Jessica has always wanted to work in orthodontics and enjoys bringing fun and laughter to each appointment as well as seeing patients smiles develop from one appointment to the next. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys spending time with her friends and family, traveling, and baking up a storm in the kitchen.
Having began her career in orthodontics as a receptionist; Janice has since gained experience in many aspects of orthodontic care and patient service, leading her to her present role as Practice Manager. Janice keeps Docbraces organized and efficient. In her free time, Janice enjoys gardening, camping, cross-country skiing, and most of all, traveling to warmer climates, where she enjoys walking, swimming and sightseeing with her husband and two children.
Tracy Turner AKA T-Rex
Tracy joined the Docbraces Smile Team™ as a Patient Service Coordinator in September of 2009 and is now one of our Financial Coordinator. Tracy is honoured to be part of
patient’s lives during their time at Docbraces, which can be both exciting and life changing. In Tracy’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading and banking. Tracy loves the outdoors, especially snow days with her dog
Part of Docbraces “Smile Team” since 2004, there is nothing Krysta finds more rewarding than being a part of the positive transformation in patients smiles, self-confidence, and quality of life, as a result of their experience at Docbraces. In Krysta’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Krysta’s hobbies include exercising, watching movies and curling up with a great book. She also enjoys attending hockey games, participating in outdoor activities and eating the occasional cheeseburger.
