Dr. John McManaman Orthodontist

Dr. McManaman started his education at Mount Allison University, where he received a B.Sc. (Hons), before he was accepted into the Dalhousie Dental School. He graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1999, and then completed a year long internship programme in dentistry at the Toronto General Hospital. It was during this period that he focussed on orthodontic research. While working with the a past chairman of the University of Toronto’s Orthodontic programme he was able to publish his first orthodontic research.

When he completed his internship, he started in the Masters in Orthodontics programme at the University of Manitoba. He was accepted into the Royal College of Dentists in 2003 and awarded a certification as a Specialist in Orthodontics when he successfully completed his thesis and Fellowship examination. He keeps up his education through his memberships in the New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia Canadian Associations of Orthodontists and the Moncton Dental Society. He also maintains a Fellowship with the Royal Canadian College of Dentists.

When he graduated, Dr, McManaman first worked at Dr. Johnson’s practice in Moncton, New Brunswick. When Dr. Johnson retired from Orthodontics, Dr. McManaman was able to take over his practice and begin Docbraces. When he isn’t helping patients, he lectures to dentists, dental hygienists and assistants, and children in schools across the Maritimes about orthodontics and dental issues. He also publishes articles regularly, and has been interviewed by many journalists on dentistry and orthodontics.

When Dr. McManaman is not practicing orthodontics, he’s often found with his family and friends. He also loves being outside running, kayaking and windsurfing on any of New Brunswick’s beautiful beaches.
