Invisalign Teen

invisalign-teenInvisalign Teen uses a series of barely noticeable, clear, surgical grade plastic aligners to reposition your teen’s teeth over time. The trays are removable allowing your teen to continue to enjoy their favourite foods and be active. Perhaps the best part of all is that most people will not even be able to tell your teen is wearing them!

Docbraces uses a digital scanning system to take 3D impressions of teeth eliminating the need for traditional, messy, and uncomfortable impressions*. The digital scanner also produces more accurate results, which means better fitting trays, and faster results.

Clear Braces

For teenagers that would like to avoid drawing attention to their orthodontic treatment, clear braces provide an excellent solution. At Docbraces we only use the newest in braces technology and today’s clear braces are made out of a translucent clear ceramic material that does not stain and remains clear throughout treatment. Depending on you teen’s particular bite, sometimes, clear braces can only be placed on the upper front teeth (the teeth that are displayed most when smiling) and metal braces may have to be placed on the bottom teeth.

Damon Clear

damon-clearWith Damon Clear, people may not even realize you’re wearing braces. Damon Clear braces are discreet and resistant to staining and discoloration throughout treatment. Damon Clear combines tieless braces with high-tech archwires that move teeth quickly and comfortably without the need for “tightening”, providing an attractive treatment experience with spectacular results.

Braces (new friction–free)

Treatment using friction-free braces is faster, more comfortable, and makes maintaining oral hygiene much easier during treatment.

The light, high-tech and special shape-memory wires move your teeth faster than conventional materials into the desired position, and require fewer adjustments. Friction-free braces use a mechanism which holds the wire, allowing your teeth to move more freely, quickly and comfortably. Treatment times with friction-free braces are typically 4-6 months less than that of conventional braces.

The passive, self-ligating braces mean that there is no need for elastic or metal ties, which can attract and collect plaque. This makes oral hygiene easier and also results in a more comfortable treatment without the need for tightening.

The majority of the bracket (60%) is fabricated from ceramic reinforced composite material, which is highly resistant to wear and staining. This combination of clear material and stainless steel gives the bracket a smaller appearance and a more aesthetic look during treatment.

Express Smiles™

Express Smiles™ is a treatment option limited to addressing the upper (and sometimes the lower) six front teeth. Those are the teeth most noticeably displayed when smiling and are thus referred to as the “social six”. Depending on a combination of the underlying treatment needs and patients preference, express smiles treatment may involve either Invisalign, clear or metal braces.

Express Smiles™ is appropriate for:

  • Patients who only want their front teeth aligned and are willing to accept their current bite and possible associated risks of a poor bite.
  • Patients who have had previous orthodontic treatment and did not wear their retainer enough with some resulting relapse of the teeth.
  • A conservative patient who just does not want to undergo comprehensive treatment.
  • Someone looking for a more economical and limited form of treatment.

Express Smiles™ provides several of the benefits of full treatment such as improved oral hygiene, while delivering a more aesthetically appealing smile in a shorter amount of time, approximately 6-10 months for a fraction of the cost of complete orthodontic treatment.

Expansion Appliances

Expansion appliances are used to:

  • Widen the upper jaw
  • Create space
  • Reduce crowding
  • Allow adult teeth to emerge in an improved position

Correcting the width of the dental arches and influencing the shape and growth of the jaws in a positive manner can also help improve facial development. These corrections can also greatly improve the ability to breath and speak clearly.

The Mara is a dental appliance used to bring the bottom jaw forward to help correct an over jet also referred to as an overbite.

How To Keep Track of When Your Child’s Adult Teeth Come In

An odd pattern of tooth eruption can cause more orthodontic problems for a child than is seen when the permanent (adult) teeth come in several months too early or too late. If your child’s teeth do not come in as expected, his or her bite and smile could both be affected. Studies show that changes Read More

Orthodontists Address Issues Related to Missing or Extra Teeth

The teeth are naturally organized in such a way as to provide support to one another; therefore, if a tooth is missing, this lost support causes additional force to be placed on the remaining teeth. Some people are actually born missing teeth. While missing teeth are a problem, extra teeth are also Read More
