Originally born and raised in Ahmedabad, India, Dr. Vaibhav Gandhi traveled and lived in different cities throughout the journey shaping his career; he could not resist the positivity and lively Albertan culture, and finally decided to make Alberta home to raise his family.

Dr. Gandhi obtained his BDS (Dental Degree) and MDS Orthodontics from Gujarat University, India. And this was the place where he met the love of his life, Dr. Farheen Malek, who is a prosthodontist. He completed his additional specialized training in Orthodontics and received his second master’s degree from the University of Louisville, KY, USA (Go Cards!!!). He also served as a senior lecturer in dental school in India and a Clinical Instructor in the division of orthodontics at the University of Connecticut, CT, USA. So far, he has published more than 32 articles in different orthodontic journals and presented his research on various national and international platforms.

Dr. Gandhi believes in evidence-based orthodontics and emphasizes customized treatment plans. The scope of orthodontics is not limited to teeth but covers teeth, jaws, and the face as a whole. Dr. Gandhi’s philosophy is to achieve a perfect balance between esthetics, function, and stability. He thinks communication, patient education, and transparency are very important right from the first visit to achieve treatment goals. Besides traditional orthodontic treatments, Dr. Gandhi’s area of particular interest in Surgical Orthodontics, Invisalign therapy, Adult Orthodontics, Cleft Lip and Craniofacial Anomalies, and Temporomandibular Joint Disorders (TMD).

In his free time, Dr. Gandhi loves to explore new places, spend time in nature, and hike with his wife, Farheen. Very recently, he got into stargazing and astrophotography as a hobby. He also enjoys playing tennis and experimenting with cooking.

Age is not a limiting factor for orthodontic treatment. A confident smile is worth 1000 words, and Dr. Gandhi is honored and excited to meet you and create beautiful and confident smiles here at docbraces in the Red Deer community.

Dr. Leagh Harfield was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB, and moved to Calgary, AB, in 1989. He graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba and practiced general dentistry for 10 years before attaining his Master of Science at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, CA, and becoming a certified specialist in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. He returned to Calgary in 1998 and has since been in full-time private practice as an Orthodontist. He loves music, exercise, cars, traveling, and fostering rescue dogs — sometimes up to four dogs at once!
