Dr. Ibtisam Al Riyami was born in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. She received her Bachelor of dental surgery degree in 2013 from Otago university, New Zealand. After her dental training, Dr Al Riyami did one year of hospital internship and then worked for 2 years as general dentist. In 2018, she returned to the University of Alberta to complete her specialty degree in Orthodontics. Dr Al Riyami was always interested in craniofacial orthodontics, After completing her speciality degree, Dr Al Riyami joined the Hospital for Sick Children for a one year craniofacial fellowship. The fellowship focused on clinical care and management of patients with cleft lip and/or palate, craniofacial anomalies, significantly compromising medical conditions. When Dr Al Riyami is not in the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends.

Dr. Mary-Ellen Polymeris, HBSc, DDS, MClD, FRCDC, is a Certified Specialist in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics with over a decade of experience in the profession.

Dr. Polymeris obtained both her Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacology and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with Honours from the University of Toronto. In recognition of graduating among the top 5% in her class, she was inducted into the Tau Tau Chapter of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honour Society.

Following dental school, Dr. Polymeris completed a one-year General Practice Residency at the University of Alberta Hospital. While in Edmonton, she gained advanced training in the dental management of medically compromised patients, as well as patients with special needs and craniofacial anomalies. She also participated in the remote areas satellite dental clinic program, where she provided dental care to the rural and underserved communities of northern Alberta. Dr. Polymeris practiced general dentistry in the Greater Toronto Area for one year before going on to complete her orthodontic specialty training and Masters of Clinical Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario, where she was awarded the Dr. Bryan Smith Graduate Award in Orthodontics. She is passionate about crafting healthy, confident smiles through compassionate orthodontic care and a skillful blend of art, science, and technology.

Dr. Polymeris is also fluent in French and Greek! Outside of the office, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Asclepius Dental Society and enjoys continued learning, staying active, cooking, travelling, and spending time with family and friends. Dr. Polymeris is thrilled to have the opportunity to improve the lives of patients in her community, here at Docbraces Toronto Midtown, for years to come!
