The closure of SmileDirectClub brings to light the controversy around direct-to-consumer dentistry. The American Dental Association has recently reaffirmed its policy which strongly opposes offers of direct-to-consumer dentistry because of the potential for irreversible harm to individuals.
To allow greater access to expert care, any patient with a current SmileDirectClub contract will be eligible for a $500 discount when continuing their aligner treatment with us, with the exception of British Columbia and Alberta. While the SmileDirectClub “Lifetime Smile Guarantee” no longer exists, patients can look forward to lifelong confident smiles with expert orthodontic care at docbraces.
